Story
A showcase of new sculptural seating vignettes enticing people to stay a little longer.

This is a debut of new pieces and reworked pieces as a part of Brent Comber Atelier. Each vignette has its own story and elicits a unique feeling towards the human need for seated comfort. Linger is a celebration of ancient materiality and sculptural presence in translation of the wonder of nature.

Crafted Vancouver is an annual 25-day festival that presents and advances outstanding local, Canadian and International craftsmanship and creativity through a curated program of events taking place in venues throughout Metro Vancouver & the Fraser Valley.

Béton Brut

Béton Brut refers to the perceived qualities of concrete; stability, permanence and strength. This collection is a translation of neoplasticism in its minimalist, structural form; designed in contrast to the organic qualities of the material. This series explores the addition of permanence to the transience of nature’s ever-evolving landscape and the value of structure as a grounding force in culture and place.

Mysa

Mysa is a Swedish term that is centered around being ‘cozy’, or more specifically revolves around taking time out from stress, being in the moment, or spending time with friends. By seeking out these occasions with our loved ones in our lives, we explore the undervalued desire to be at peace.

The Mysa chair highlights all that brings clarity in the midst of our busy lives. With a design that is simple, but distinct, you are given the freedom to experience nature from the comfort of an intimate interior space.

Daylily

The Daylily emerged as an evolution of our Nest chair with influence from our Floret wall piece. It almost appears to sprout out of the forest floor, like the elusive daylily flower with a fresh blossom to elicit the sense of bright beginnings. The ephemeral nature of flowers is analogous with the first glimmers of Spring. These moments of beauty and hope are worthy of appreciation seated in warm cedar.

Ebb Chair

The intertidal zone is a dynamic and lively ecosystem where the resilience of land meets forceful powers of the ocean. As the lunar gravitational pull commands the ocean, the tide ebbs and flows along the coast. It is lively, delivering and dispersing sediments and nutrients, barreling into any obstacle. The Ebb chair is a testament to Mother Nature’s ability to transform and soften earth’s elements in the landscape.
