Overview

This piece is designed to evoke a sense of discovery. The title comes from a moment of childhood fun, of unique play that has stayed long in the memory for me. Found right on the site of UniverCity’s Living Building Childcare Centre, this fallen western red cedar is now transformed to inspire this type of friendly, playful approach to learning. It’s made for sitting on, playing on, climbing on, hanging out on – even perhaps meditating on. I want people to touch it, smell it and most of all, think about it. Just as it forms an entrance to the centre, let it be an entrance to wonder itself.
