The Floret is inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s interpretation of the natural beauty of flowers and her method of symbolically abstracting forms to represent the softness and depth of femininity.  In its original state, the burly tree base from which this piece was carved exuded a hefty and rugged presence. Through methodically hand sculpting the form to maintain its natural shape, we revealed an underlying softness synonymous with feminine beauty.
